Six Incredible Sandwiches

In the UK, roughly 11.5 billion sandwiches are eaten every year. That’s a lot of sandwiches. Life can get boring, very quickly if you make the same sandwiches day after day after day. Sandwiches are a lifeline for desk lunches, packed lunches, picnics and all summer adventures.

With the sun set to shine all week, and the summer holidays on the horizon, any and all of these sandwiches will save you from an endless run of hummus or ham sandwiches. I have a favourite, and I am wondering what yours will be. Let me know by leaving a comment on this post.

1.    Fig, Cheaty Burrata, Rocket and Tapenade

2.    BLP - Bacon, Lettuce and Grilled Pineapple

3.    Roasted Beef Reuben with Horseradish Dressing

4.    Mortadella, Celeriac Remoulade and Pistachio Mayonnaise

5.    Blackened Sesame Salmon with Avocado and Lime Slaw

Typing this blog post on the train to London where I am off to record with my 10th guest for the new season 5 O’ Clock Apron Podcast which drops with my first guest Amol Rajan on 18th June. The aim of the podcast is for me to go and cook alongside every profession that isn’t a chef of a food writer. Recording each episode has been as thrilling as the last, each time I leave their kitchen with some new tip, trick or recipe and a spring in my step. There is a also a YouTube channel to accompany the podcast, sign up and subscribe and listen wherever you listen to your podcasts. From Wednesday I will be linking the podcast and the recipes on www.5oclockapron.com podcast page.

I am sharing these recipes at www.5oclockapron.com because I love sharing with this audience how I cook at home. And whilst I also have 10 published cookery books, I’d like for as many people as possible to have access to my recipes. There’s also my reels over on instagram where I post cookery videos which dovetail with all the recipes on my website and in my cookbooks.

I love cooking, and I love writing about food. @5oclockapron, in a nutshell!
